Wilderness Marksman is operated by Clark Media Ventures LLC. Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission from that retailer, at no extra cost to you.

We participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As we join other programs, we will list them here.

How we choose what to recommend.

A commission never buys a recommendation. We write about shooting gear on the basis of what performs, and we link to the retailer that makes sense for the reader. Where we have handled a piece of gear, we say so. Where we are drawing on published testing, manufacturer specs and owner reports, we say that instead.

Safety and legality. Firearms laws, and the rules covering optics, ammunition and accessories, vary by state and sometimes by county. Nothing here is legal advice. Check what applies where you live and hunt before you buy.

Prices. Prices move week to week. Any price mentioned here was accurate when written and may not be now — check the retailer’s page.
