Bass reels that lose smoothness fast

Most bass reels feel great right out of the box. Fresh grease, tight tolerances, clean bearings. Then the season gets rolling. Dust, splash, heat, and long retrieves start to tell the truth. Smoothness fades first. You feel it in the handle, hear it on the retrieve, and notice it most when fighting fish or slow-rolling baits.
