A 69-year-old driver has been charged after a crash that killed a 17-year-old girl when he allegedly ran a red light and hit another vehicle. According to police reports, the impact caused fatal injuries to the teen and serious harm to her father. The case has moved through court arraignment as investigators piece together what happened at the intersection.

Bodycam footage and officer interviews also reveal the driver talking about his recent truck purchase shortly after the crash. Prosecutors say those comments stood out given the seriousness of the scene. He now faces multiple charges, including homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and related counts tied to injury and alcohol involvement. 

The crash at the intersection

Authorities say the collision happened after the driver allegedly failed to stop at a red light, entering the intersection and striking another vehicle. The teen passenger, Chloe Bishop, was killed, while her father suffered significant injuries in the crash.
